A last-gasp David Villa goal saw the Swedes succumb to a 2-1 defeat the second time out, before a 2-0 defeat in their final game decider with Russia confirmed a Group Stage exit for Henrik Larsson and co. After being awarded the Swedish Golden Ball in 2007 Zlatan ended his goalless run of 12 qualifying games with the first match of Euro 2008 against Greece, putting in a man-of-the-match performance.
